'Lack of strategy led to Kutami’s drubbing'

HYDERABAD: Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) founder-president M Kodandaram on Tuesday stated the failure of Praja Kutami to go to the doorsteps of the citizens with its manifesto and not having an early joint way to beat chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at his own game resulted in the Kutami's drubbing in the fresh Assembly polls.

"Alleged manipulation of EVM's alone is not the single reason for Kutami's defeat. First of all the Kutami delayed its formation, then seat sharing deal and did not have a proper strategy. We wanted to project it as a contest between a family and Telangana people but could not take the slogan effectively to the doorsteps of the voter. The role of officials who allegedly worked in favour of the ruling party also needs to be probed," Kodandaram stated.

"Knowing from close quarters Chandrasekhar Rao’s campaign strategy, I had cautioned Kutami partners that at least 50 days are needed to counter the chief minister’s campaign. But TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy said 15 days are enough and that TDP state president L Ramana said three weeks are sufficient. KCR was successful in cooling down the anger amongst people against TRS," he stated.

The TJS leader stated that the executive minister’s Federal Front proposal is probably not a success. "Either a state should raise an issue that would have its impact on the entire country or four to five states together should raise their problems against the Centre. In the event of these two things happening, a proposal like Federal Front could be a success but KCR does not seem to have either of the issues or has nor raised it so far," he stated.

On Lok Sabha elections, Kodandaram stated no choice has been taken whether he should contest the polls or not. "It is not correct that I am going to Rajya Sabha with the support of Congress," he stated. Stating that the adaptation of votes polled to TRS and Kutami is 22 lakh, he stated the TJS is operating to enhance the celebration from the grassroots. "We are not ashamed of the defeat in Assembly polls. But we would take it as a lesson to emerge victorious in the future," he stated.

Stating that crop loans waiver, minimal fortify worth, unemployment factor and GST are a number of the problems that may play a a very powerful position in Lok Sabha polls, Kodandaram stated even the Central funding to the states is going to be a major factor in the Parliamentary elections.
