SURAT: In a love story that went awry, a 23-year-old girl has lodged a complaint of rape against her former pal in Varachha police station on Tuesday. Incidentally, the girl and her pal Mayank Soni, have been booked in Adajan police station for allegedly cheating a woman of Rs 15 lakh.
The girl alleged that Soni, 26, a jeweller, had raped in Singapore, Thailand and at her house after promising to marry her. He also resued to return the money that she had lent him. The complainant is a former worker of a chartered accountancy firm.
Police investigation thus far revealed that Soni and the girl came involved with each and every other as they lived in the similar locality. They knew each and every other for the ultimate eight years and developed close dating 5 years in the past. Meanwhile, the girl used to be asked to go to Singapore by her workplace in 2017 for some paintings. She asked Soni to accompany her. Similarly, they even went to Bangkok after few months. In her complaint, the girl alleged that Soni pressured her into physical dating at those puts.
However, their dating started getting bitter when Adajan police booked her and Soni for cheating a girl by promising to offer her an condo.
“Following the police complaint, both developed differences over cash and continuation of dating. We will register statement of witnesses and arrest the accused,” mentioned police.
