Bengal policemen take away weavers’ bodies

VARANASI: The bodies of 7 people killed in the blast in a carpet weaving unit in Bhadohi had been despatched for postmortem exam on Sunday. A crew from West Bengal Police, in conjunction with family members of deceased, all weavers from Malda, reached Bhadohi and confirmed their identities late in the night ahead of the bodies had been despatched.
Illegal stocking of explosives in the unit’s proprietor Kaliyar Mansoori’s house had claimed 12 lives on Saturday afternoon. Mansoori’s two sons had been also killed. Bhadohi SP Rajesh S said that of the 12 people killed, 5 had been identified by means of households on Saturday and postmortem exam carried out.

However, that of the rest seven used to be carried out on Sunday after identities had been ascertained by means of family members from Malda. After their postmortem exam, the bodies would be handed over to Bengal police to be taken to their native puts.


Meanwhile, samples gathered from the blast website by means of bomb disposal squad and forensic mavens had been also despatched for exams to establish the nature of explosives.


Bhadohi district Justice of the Peace Rajendra Prasad, who ordered a magisterial probe into the incident, said investigation officials have been asked to check whether or not details of weavers and labourers engaged by means of other carpet weaving gadgets are maintained by means of employers.


Samples gathered by means of police and other companies had already been despatched to the Agra forensic laboratory and experiences had been awaited.
