The cops arrested Syed Safiullah Hussaini, 27, and seized the automobile from Sangareddy.


“With an intention to cheat Clix Finance India from where he took Rs 12.67 lakh mortgage, Safiullah modified the colour of his automobile from white to black and also modified the automobile registration quantity. He took the automobile to his native place at Budhera in Sangareddy district and stored the Innova in a shed there,” DCP, CCS, Avinash Mohanty mentioned. Cops stepped in following a criticism from the finance firm.


Safiullah purchased the second-hand Innova in 2016 from Gulam Ali of KB Motors in Chandrayangutta at Rs 17.50 lakh.


Safiullah was in badly wanting money and approached Axis Bank, Ranigunj, from where he raised a mortgage of Rs 10.24 lakh in 2017. For 365 days, he paid the EMIs incessantly. Later, he took Rs 12.67 lakh mortgage towards his automobile from Clix Finance and cleared his pending mortgage with Axis Bank by way of paying Rs nine.24 lakh. The closing Rs 3.42 lakh was deposited in his account.


The accused previously had lodged a pretend criticism in Abids police station claiming that his automobile was stolen after he parked it near a showroom in Abids. This he had executed to claim insurance towards the misplaced automobile and thereby transparent the mortgage arrears with Clix Finance and at the similar time use the Innova with a pretend registration quantity, police mentioned.
