Tirupur: The carcass of a seven-year-old male elephant used to be discovered close to Thirumoorthy reservoir in Tirupur district on Friday. It used to be discovered floating in the contour canal, which drains into the reservoir.
Forest department officers fished out the carcass from the canal. “We consider the elephant may have slipped into the canal whilst drinking water and sustained injuries on its head. The actual cause of dying might be ascertained simplest after investigation,” stated a senior woodland reputable.
A medical staff carried out postmortem. The officers were taking steps to bury the carcass at the spot.
