Odisha: Five districts get new collectors ahead of polls

BHUBANESWAR: The state government on Saturday appointed new creditors in five districts as part of a significant reshuffle in the state forms months earlier than the general and meeting elections.


According to a notification issued via the state normal administration department, Sambalpur collector Samarth Verma and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner Shubham Saxena swapped their positions. While Verma has been posted as BMC commissioner, Saxena transferred as Sambalpur collector.


Angul collector Anil Kumar Samal has been transferred as revenue divisional commissioner, central division, Cuttack. Manoj Kumar Mohanty, will exchange Samal as new collector, Angul.


While Bibhuti Bhusan Patnaik, who was serving as collector, Jharsuguda has been posted as director, tourism. Bibhuti Bhusan Das will serve as new collector, Jharsuguda.


Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar is new district collector, Jagatsinghpur as Yamini Sarangi has been transferred to the state health and family welfare department. Pramod Kumar Behera to replace Poonam as new collector, Rayagada.
