PMC denies, but many modular toilets locked

PATNA: Almost after 20 days in their inauguration, majority of modular bathrooms across the town are locked.
Patna mayor Sita Sahu and municipal commissioner Anupam Kumar Suman had inaugurated around 60 modular bathrooms on February 7 as a part of the Centre’s Swachh Bharat Mission.

Majority of the ones bathrooms lack proper water connections, resources said and added that a couple of have been additionally closed out of worry of having them grimy!

PMC public family members officer (PRO) Harshita, then again, claimed that all the modular bathrooms, apart from six or seven, have been useful. “The issue that cropped up after the inauguration of modular bathrooms used to be of water connectivity. However, water has been made to be had to most of the ones bathrooms and they are functioning correctly,” Harshita told this newspaper on Monday.

“Motors are being installed at all the modular bathrooms to verify uninterrupted water supply. Once the motors are installed, the remaining bathrooms can be opened for the general public,” she said.


The PMC in September final had announced the set up of around 400 modular bathrooms across the town till March. The task has been assigned to 2 personal companies underneath the corporate social accountability. Each bathroom is being constructed with price range to the music of Rs5 lakh.


PMC resources said modular bathrooms have been being installed at strategic locations like Ashok Rajpath, Gandhi Maidan roundabout, Boring Road and Income Tax roundabout.


Usha Jha of Boring Road preferred one of these transfer, however had doubts about the plan luck. “Authorities should supply all the elementary amenities within the bathrooms in order that people can use them and the civic conditions of the city support,” she said.
