Still young at heart, they meet at alma mater after 50 years

Coimbatore: It was once an evening filled with warm bear hugs, backslapping, chuckles as 50 alumni of PSG College of Technology celebrated their golden jubilee at their alma mater on Friday night time.

The engineering batch of 1969-’74 used the chance to reminisce their faculty days, meet each and every other’s families and have a good time one any other’s success in quite a lot of walks of life. While the previous students loved bumping into each and every other, 20 lecturers, who attended the meeting, turned emotional.


“This time, we've got 5 collegemates, who've come down from in another country for the meet. And it has been an indescribable feeling since Thursday afternoon, after we started getting in combination,” said the batch’s alumni coordinator, R Krishnakumar.


To really relive their faculty days, they had checked into their faculty hostel on Thursday afternoon and spent time in their old rooms. They had dinner and breakfast at the faculty mess and took a stroll round their liked campus. “We nearly really feel like we're back in faculty as a scholar and young once more,” said Krishnakumar.


“It has in reality been funny, with just recognizing some classmates taking half-an-hour and remembering where they used to take a seat and play mischief. We are meeting some classmates after 45 years,” said Joseph Joachim, some of the batch members. “It is a great feeling of oneness. Some folks are corporate leaders, marketers, lecturers, executive employees and educationists. This reunion took us back to our golden old days.”
