TN: Woman dies in Chennai road accident

CHENNAI: A 25-year-old woman died at the spot while her husband and two children escaped with minor injuries after a two-wheeler they have been travelling on collided with a truck at Chintadripet right here on Wednesday night time.
The deceased has been identified as Saraswathi, wife of Saravanan of Meeran Sahib Street in Chintadripet. The couple had two children aged six years and three years, police mentioned.

On Wednesday, the elder child fell ill, and the couple and the youngsters have been going to sanatorium. "Around 10.45pm, a few meters away from their home, the two-wheeler collided head on with a truck. Saraswathi fell under the rear wheels of the truck and she died on the spot. Others escaped with minor injuries," mentioned a police officer.


Passerby rushed the family to sanatorium and nabbed truck motive force Lagan Singh. They thrashed the truck motive force. The motive force, who sustained injures, used to be admitted to govt sanatorium.


Lagan Singh is local of Haryana. The truck used to be carrying automotive spare portions from Delhi.
