13 bogies of Tapti Ganga Express derail in Bihar

PATNA: Six passengers have been injured on Sunday after 13 coaches of Chapra-Surat Tapti Ganga Express derailed in Bihar's Saran district.
The accident took place close to Gautam Asthan railway station in Varanasi department at nine.45 am, minutes after the Surat-bound train left Chapra Junction, Sanjay Yadav, leader public family members officer (CPRO) of North Eastern Railway stated.

No casualty has been reported up to now, the CPRO informed PTI over phone, adding that the injured have been admitted to a neighborhood hospital.

The accident spot is 10 km away from Chapra the city, he stated.


"The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained and we are waiting for more details," Yadav stated, adding that it'll be transparent only after an investigation is carried out.


The primary line (up line) has been blocked because of the accident, the CPRO stated.


Rescue operations are beneath means, some officers stated.


"About 180 passengers, who wanted to continue their onward journey, have been sent for their destinations by a special train," the CPRO stated, adding, others have been served refreshments and sent to Chapra (Saran district headquarters) by way of bus from the place they left for his or her local puts.
