UDUPI: A police workforce from the District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) have arrested five pals of underworld don Bannanje Raja for allegedly threatening businessman Ratnakar D Shetty, 69, a resident of Upuru KJ Road right here.
The arrested are Dhanaraj Poojary, 26, a resident of Katapady woodland gate, Shashi Poojary alias Shadow, 28, his brother Ravichandra Poojary alias Vicki Poojary, 30, a resident of Mangaluru, Dhanaraj Salian alias Dhanu Kola, 30, and Ullas Shenoy, 27, a resident of Malpe.
Ratnakar won a call on his mobile on March 13, and the caller demanded “coverage cash”. Regarding the similar, a case was once registered at Brahmavar police station. An Udupi DCIB workforce led through inspector C Kiran conducted searches at other puts with regards to the case.
