ACE students visit PEDA

CHANDIGARH: As part of the curriculum, scholars of Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Communication Dept of Aryans College of Engineering (ACE), Rajpura, situated close to Chandigarh, were taken for an commercial visit to Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), Solar Passive advanced in Sector 33D Chandigarh.


The goal of the visit was to make scholars mindful about the importance of energy conservation, use of renewable energy, promotion of solar energy, Use of waste material and Environment-friendly development and so forth.

Engineer Gagandeep Singh, Building In-charge of PEDA explained scholars about Salient design options of Solar Passive Complex akin to orientation, Unique Shell Roofing on Central Atrium, Light Vaults, Wind Tower coupled with Solar Chimneys and so forth.


Gagandeep instructed that the constructions are being designed uniquely the use of ways like offering big home windows, huge size corridors for enough air motion, Chajja's that were projected greater than 1.5m from the constructions to dam the direct daylight from coming into the rooms water and waste control machine, own generators to revive the solar energy and then utilizing in step with their want.

He additional briefed the students on the concept of Green Buildings and the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) requirements set through the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
