Bihar border on high alert

PATNA: Over 250 border outposts (BoPs) along India-Nepal border in state have been placed on high alert within the wake of emerging tension between India and Pakistan after air moves by means of Indian Air Force (IAF) on terror camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), which killed ratings of educated commandos of Jaish-e-Mohammed on Tuesday.

While the BoPs along the India-Nepal border in Bihar is manned by means of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), the rustic’s boundary with Bangladesh near Kishanganj (in Bihar) is being taken care of by means of the team of workers of the Border Security Force (BSF).

SSB’s deputy inspector general (frontier headquarters), Patna, Sudhir Verma said on Thursday that the team of workers deployed on the global borders within the state have been placed on a maximum alert and requested to intensify patrolling, particularly throughout evening.

“As the state’s border with Nepal is porous and folks from both sides frequently enter into each other’s territory, it has been made necessary for them to go through body frisking at the respective BoPs,” Verma said, adding the “lax” police officers would now not be spared.

Pakistan’s spy agency ISI had previous used Bihar as a safe route to send its operatives to other parts of the rustic to carry out subversive actions. Special vigil is being maintained at the two borders – Raxaul border in East Champaran district and Jogbani border in Araria district. Several villages along the porous border at Raxaul and Jogbani had been considered to be a hotbed of Pakistan’s ISI backed operatives, assets within the intelligence businesses said.


DIG, SSB, (Purnia sector) J D Vashishta said seek operation had also been introduced within the villages considered to be prone from security point of view. “Apart from endeavor regimen patrolling along India-Nepal border, we're taking all precautionary measures to forestall the influx of operatives of insurgent teams into Indian territory,” he added.
