CEO of NPCL, 6 other executives booked for death of children at substation

GREATER NOIDA: Eight persons, including seven officials of the Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL), which supplies energy to a better a part of rural Gautam Budh Nagar, have been booked after 3 youngsters got electrocuted when they got here involved with a circuit breaker at a substation on Wednesday. The officials have been booked under Section 304 of the IPC (culpable homicide no longer amounting to murder).

Among those named in the FIR are CEO RC Agrawal, assistant engineer Atish Ranjan, junior engineer Dhirendra, engineer Mohan Singh, assistant manager Vishwakarma, DGM Shushank Andre, general manager Sarnath Ganguly and “different officials”.

The FIR has been lodged on a grievance by means of Pappu, father of one of the 3 youngsters who died, Golu. Pappu alleged that the main gate of the substation was broken and the shutter of the main room of the panel box open.

According to the FIR lodged on Thursday, the kids — Golu (10) from Moradabad, Sagar (12), a resident of Bulandshahr who studied in Class II and Rinkoo (10) from Mahoba, another Class II pupil — have been enjoying in Phi 3 sector near the substation. They had inadvertently entered the premises of the substation.

“Due to the high voltage present in the panel, the youngsters got electrocuted. The incident took place because of the negligence of the CEO RC Agrawal, assistant engineer Atish Ranjan, junior engineer Dhirendra, engineer Mohan Singh, assistant manager Vishwakarma, DGM Shushank Andre, general manager Sarnath Ganguly and ‘different officials’, the FIR states. Ajay Kumar, the SHO of Kasna police station, mentioned an FIR have been lodged and arrests would even be made after investigation.

Meanwhile, after information of the FIR unfold, NPCL officials met the members of the family of one of the youngsters at their place of business.


Pappu advised IdealNews that officials of NPCL had contacted them and he had visited the place of business together with some citizens of Vrinda City.


All the kids belonged to poor households. While Pappu is a gardener in Amity college, the oldsters of the other two youngsters paintings as labourers.


Contacted, NPCL spokesperson Sarnath Ganguly mentioned they have been conscious in regards to the FIR mentioning senior NPCL officials. “Let the police investigate the matter. We won't comment prior to investigation,” he mentioned.
