COIMBATORE: The town police arrested a pair on Thursday for murdering an elderly woman in Annai Velankanni Nagar at Sowripalayam on March 18 after stealing her gold. Police stated the couple called on the woman below the pretext of looking for a rental home and murdered the woman.
The arrested couple was identified as G Ramesh, 39, and his spouse R Kanchanadevi, 35, from Bharathi Nagar at Sulur. Police stated Ramesh was engaged in inside ornament work and he was going through large losses. His spouse Kanchanadevi was a beautician.
Police stated, the couple was suffering to steer their lifestyles they usually were not ready to pay leases for the closing four months. The area proprietor in Udayampalayam asked the couple to vacate. Few months in the past, Kanchanadevi’s elder sister vacated from a area at Annai Velankanni Nagar near Sowripalayam and she determined to seek advice from the home along side her husband Ramesh.

Peelamedu (crime) police registered a case and picked up CCTV photos. “All the CCTV footages recorded during the night time hours were not transparent. So, we were not ready to identify the couple. With the help of real property agents, police learnt that a couple vacated their rental area from Udayampalayam and moved to Sulur. “They introduced a mini truck to shift their assets to Sulur. We picked up the motive force of the mini truck who showed the home to our particular groups. Finally, we arrested the couple who confessed to the crime,” stated the police officer.
The couple pledged the gold embellishes at a pawnbroker store. Police are seeking to get better the gold. Police stated, the couple might be produced prior to a judicial Justice of the Peace courtroom on Thursday night and remanded.
