Father-son duo sets Guinness World Record

HYDERABAD: The Indian father-son duo of Krishan Bhatia, 51 and Kshitij Bhatia, 16 have damaged the Guinness World Record for the largest hula hoop spun - twirling a large hula hoop measuring 5.31 meters. This document used to be up to now held by Yuya Yamada of Japan, who spun a hula hoop that measured 16 ft, 10 inches.

Krishan Bhatia is an IES officer operating with Indian Railways and Kshitij Bhatia is a XI standard pupil of DAV School, Sector 56, Noida. The event used to be held at Meghdootam Park, Noida.


Bhatia had first approached the Limca Book of Records in July remaining 12 months with a suggestion to spin a large hula hoop. They declined to entertain their application mentioning that they accept proposals simplest between January and June. “Then we considered making an attempt the Guinness World Record,” Bhatia said. “The rejection served as a blessing in conceal,” he added.


"The inspiration to attempt this record came from my daughter, Prachi Bhatia," Bhatia senior recalled. Prachi has been hula hooping as a pastime. She now has a start-up named Nakshatra Hula Hoops. She also designed the enormous hula hoop for the father-son duo, which weighs about eight.5 kg.


“It took us five months of practice to damage this document. First, we began with a hula hoop of 10 feet. Then we stored on including segments to increase it to 11, 12, 13 feet... and so forth. After we reached 15 feet, it used to be in point of fact challenging to increase even an inch further. But the trouble ultimately paid off!”


Interestingly, the former document holder from Japan is making an attempt to capture this document once more and Japanese media NHK is filming his efforts.
