MSU teachers bag Rs 88 lakh worth SPARC funding

VADODARA: Teachers of the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology Centre of M S University’s Faculty of Science have bagged SPARC fund to the track of Rs 88 lakh underneath a Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC).

SPARC, a scheme introduced by way of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) aims at bettering the analysis ecosystem of India’s higher tutorial institutions by way of facilitating instructional and analysis collaborations between Indian institutions and the best institutions on the planet to jointly resolve issues of national and/or global relevance.


Two joint analysis tasks were submitted from the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology by way of two lecturers – Dr Pushpendra Singh with global collaborator professor Annemieke Geluk from Leiden University Medical Centre and Dr Devarshi U Gajjar with collaborator Dr Munehiro Asally from the University of Warwick, England underneath SPARC for a two-year analysis and interaction programme.


Their proposal addresses the subjects ‘analysis of multi-biomarker checks for leprosy and tuberculosis at the point of care level’ and ‘microfluidic research to know/combat biofilm formation by way of Klebsiella spp’.


The national coordinating agency for funding is IIT, Kharagpur. A suite of tangible earmarked deliverables of the collaborative efforts on proposed subject consisting of joint analysis outcomes together with best magazine publications, text books/ analysis monographs, patent or products.
