Students protest against VC outside senate meet venue

SURAT: A gaggle of students held protest out of doors the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VSNGU) senate hall on Wednesday and shouted slogans towards vice chancellor Shivendra Gupta.

The VNSGU senate assembly was once held on the administrative construction through which two-third members remained absent. Majority of the senators remained absent to check in protest towards the alleged dictatorial management via the VC and his aides, sources on the college knowledgeable.

The crew of students started protest soon after the senate assembly started at 12 midday and continued till the senate assembly ended at three.30 pm. The students to start with shouted slogans on stairs of the executive construction and demanded to post their memorandum. But the VNSGU officials refused to return out to accept the memorandum after which the students rushed to the senate hall pushing away the safety.

During the protest the students broke a portion of the door.


The VNSGU officials referred to as the police which tried to mediate a compromise between college control and agitating students. After discussion, students agreed for a peaceful protest and sat on dharna out of doors the senate hall with call for to post memorandum.


Police officials, who had been seeking to control the placement, had been additionally stunned via the way of the VNSGU officials who refused to return to accept the memorandum.


“VNSGU officials refused to permit numerous senators to talk on essential problems citing type code of habits for election. But via organising senate and tabling budget for subsequent year the college has overtly violated the code of habits,” stated Bhavesh Rabari, a sanator.
