LUDHIANA: In its drive towards drug peddlers, Khanna police on Thursday arrested two persons and seized 33032 intoxicant drugs and capsules from their ownership at various places.
Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said that police has started a different campaign towards the drug trafficking and misdemeanours. He added that right through the campaign, a police celebration was provide at Near Grewal Sweets Samrala Ludhiana Road at Samrala.
"While checking, a person was seen coming from Samrala side. After seeing the police presence, the man diverted his way to another side. On suspicion, police party stopped him, during questioning he was identified as Inderjit Singh of Parbhat Nagar in Dholewal of Ludhiana. 2232 Capsule (1800 Parvon Spas Plus and 432 Spasmo Proxyvon T-plus) recovered from various places," police said.
The SSP said that police has registered a case beneath sections 22/61/85 of NDPS Act towards the accused at Samala police station and he was arrested.
In the second one such case, police arrested another person near Corporation Office Chowk Ludhiana and recovered 1100 drugs of Alprazolam (Intoxicants) fro him.
The drug peddler was booked beneath sections 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act.
Police officials said that the accused were being interrogated to establish from the place they'd were given the consignments and the place they needed to promote the intoxicants. Police also are checking the records to establish whether or not they have police record towards them.
