THANE: As many as 1.16 lakh students throughout Thane district will seem for the SSC examination around the 320 centres right here this yr as according to the brand new syllabus, while 5,227 might be giving their checks below the old syllabus.
From ensuring that the students' seating numbers were allocated to the college school rooms and jotted down on the bulletin board to rechecking and stocking up on scientific and elementary amenities, faculty authorities were observed all set for the D-day at some point ahead of the examination itself.
"We have 250 students appearing for their SSC exams in our school and we ensured that their seating numbers were allocated and marked before they started arriving to check it on Thursday," said Rupa Dey, main of Shreerang Vidyalay.
"We have also stocked up on water and medical supplies and drawn up a plan in which each floor will have an additional supervisor to meet any of the students' needs during the exam. We have also kept a special room for handicapped students on the ground floor to avoid any inconvenience," added Dey. The colleges have even doubled up on their safety ranges all the way through the examination to keep away from any instances of paper leaks.
"Right from when the question papers are sent from the custody office till it reaches the school and are unsealed, we will have police presence. The papers will be unsealed in the presence of a police official, a teacher, an exam conductor and a student only after all the SSC students are seated in the exam hall. They will then be counted and distributed," said R J Rajput, main of MH High School.
Some colleges have designated a couple of academics and counselors to make the atmosphere less worrying.
"We have about 1,090 students appearing for their SSC exams from our school and some of them are bound to be distressed. We have asked our counselors and teachers to give them an emotion boost," said Janhavi Rai, main of St. Xaviers School and Jr College.
