Trio held for brutal attack on 19-yr-old in Kondhwa

PUNE: Three men brutally attacked a 19-year-old faculty student inside a gated society in Kondhwa on Friday evening.

The sufferer, Abdulla Durraj Gore, a first-year BSc student, has registered an FIR with the Kondhwa police, who arrested the lads. The suspects, Ubed Saeed Khan (30), Sufiyan Rafique Khan (33) and Abdulla Raja Shaikh (28), were remanded in magisterial custody and sent to Yerawada jail.

Gore, a resident of Ujjwal Park housing society on NIBM Road, drove in a hatchback automotive to meet his aunt at Konark Pooram society. He turned proper sharply into the rear gate of the society on NIBM Bypass Road, narrowly chopping off a motorcycle coming from the other facet.

“I had flashed the indicator and sounded the horn while turning. Ubed was on the telephone while using the bike. I thought my car grazed his bike and stepped out of the car to ask for forgiveness, but he abused me and hit me along with his helmet. I tried to pacify him, but if he didn’t relent, I drove into the society,” Gore advised TOI.

Ubed chased Gore inside the society or even called his buddies, who got here there on bikes. “Sufiyan Khan and Abdulla Shaikh attacked me with an iron rod when I were given out of the car. My aunt rushed out of her flat and attempted to interfere, but they abused her too,” Gore mentioned.


Gore then called his cousin Hassan, who advised the attackers to stay away. “They have been in no temper to concentrate, forcing my cousin to brandish his authorized revolver and fire it into the air,” Gore mentioned.


The suspects panicked and ran away. Gore, who suffered injuries across his body, called the police. Senior inspector Anil Patil of the Kondhwa police mentioned this was a road rage incident. “The assailants, employees of personal firms, don’t know the sufferer. We have arrested the trio underneath the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Maharashtra Police Act,” Patil mentioned.


Inspector Mahadeo Kumbhar mentioned, “Hassan fired in the air as the assailants attacked the student on his head. The weapons used in the crime have been seized.”


“Hassan, a businessman, had obtained an all-India firearms licence from the district magistrate in Allahabad. The licence is registered with the Pune police,” assistant inspector Vivek Padvi mentioned.
