Ex-SAD MLA & ex-BSP leader Mohan Lal joins Cong

JALANDHAR: A year after becoming a member of the BSP, Mohan Lal on Friday joined Congress at Chandigarh in leader minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s presence. Former BSP state president Gurlal Saila and birthday celebration candidate from Banga in 2017 Rajinder Singh additionally joined Congress at Chandigarh. All 3 are from Anandpur Sahib parliamentary constituency.


Former Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Mohal Lal had joined BJP in December 2016 all through the run-up to the meeting election but in April ultimate year he shifted to BSP. He is the son of former BJP minister Chaudhary Swarna Ram, who was a number of the first SC leaders of the birthday celebration in Punjab and remained a minister in SAD-BJP governments in 1997-2002 and 2007-2012.


Mohan Lal had remained MLA from Banga in 1997-2002 and 2007-2012. When SAD denied him ticket in 2002, he contested the election on BSP ticket, but once more returned to SAD.


Giving his reason to go away BSP, he said that he had resigned from the birthday celebration a couple of months again as there was no respect.


He was aspirant of BJP ticket from Phagwara rather than sitting MLA Som Parkash, who had displaced his father in 2012. Mohan Lal owed allegiance to Som Parkash’s bĂȘte noire then BJP state president and MoS Vijay Sampla. However, Parkash controlled to retain his ticket and seat additionally.
