THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Any lapse from the part of candidates, in putting out commercials relating to their prison information will result in a breach of courtroom order and the election of such candidates might be challenged, chief electoral officer Teeka Ram Meena said.

The prison information should be marketed in 3 newspapers and three tv channels that experience vast publicity within the specific parliamentary constituency, the place the candidate has been fielded. The commercials should be printed in minimal of 12-point font dimension, so that they grab the readers’ consideration.


The commercials being telecast within the tv channels should last no less than seven seconds, and should be aired between 8am and 10pm. The publishing might be both in Malayalam or in English. The prison information should be printed in newspapers on or ahead of April 21 and within the tv channels, they should be telecast ahead of 6pm on April 21.


The expenditure for publishing the prison instances via candidates will be counted against the candidate’s election expenses, while the ones via political parties will be counted against the birthday celebration’s election expenses. In an order, the Supreme Court had said that every one political parties and candidates should submit prison information against their birthday celebration candidates during the newspapers and electronic media.
