BHUBANESWAR: A woman attempted self-immolation outside Naveen Niwas, place of abode of leader minister Naveen Patnaik, on Wednesday alleging that she were allegedly raped by means of BJD’s Udala candidate and previous MLA Shrinath Soren in 2014.
The safety workforce deployed outside foiled the self-immolation bid and rescued her. The woman mentioned he has taken the step to oppose Soren’s candidature from Udala in the approaching polls.
Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo mentioned the girl is ok now.
Soren, then again, refused the allegations announcing it used to be a conspiracy by means of his political rivals to defame him ahead of the polls. “I don’t even know the lady,” Soren mentioned.
In January 2014, Soren, who used to be then MLA of Udala, and his aide Swarup Das, have been booked in an alleged gang-rape case following a complaint by means of the girl. In her complaint, the lady alleged that she had given Rs 1 lakh to Soren for a central authority task.
As the MLA failed to provide her a job, she had asked to go back her money. After repeated request, the then MLA allegedly known as him to his place of abode and raped her, she had complained.
