Thiruvananthapuram: In his service story, ‘Katha Ithuvare’ (Story So Far), D Babu Paul recalls a startling incident after taking over Cochin Port Trust (CPT) as chairman in 1984. On attaining his respectable quarters after dinner, he noticed a man in three-piece go well with in the toilet. But all at once he vanished.
The subsequent day, whilst going during the photos of former port trust officers, Paul came across the image of Ok W P Marar, a former chairman. He had putting resemblance with the man he noticed the day past.
Marar had been poisoned to death after a few months after turning into chairman. According to Babu Paul, Marar used to emerge from the sea, driving a black horse, shuttle by way of the aspect of the present Harbour House, as much as the Malabar Hotel. He would then go back to the Chairman’s Jetty and disappear into the waters, says veteran journalist Ramachandran in his blog.
Paul traced Marar’s circle of relatives and his wife and son had been invited for the next Republic Day birthday party at CPT. During their chat, Marar’s wife Leela advised Paul that he liked driving, especially black horses. “Later, I asked him if it was once a hallucination. His replied, ‘may be, may be now not’,” Ramachandran advised TOI. tnn
