NEW DELHI: Jack Dorsey, the 42-year-old founder of Twitter, fasts for 22 hours a day, walks five miles to his place of work, skips breakfast and lunch, and best ever eats meat and fish with salad or a green vegetable, followed through a fruit. Most challenging of all, he sits in an ice bathtub for 15 minutes for “mental clarity”. At weekends, he is going with out meals, best sipping water for 2 days at a time.
In a podcast with health personality Ben Greenfield, Dorsey said the punishing health routine helped him “stay sharper”. “...You have this very focused point of thoughts... I will be able to move to mattress and in reality knock out in 10 minutes.” Dorsey’s unconventional eating habits (five foods every week) has sparked a debate on social media.
“These aren’t ‘wellness hacks’. These are disordered eating behaviours...,” tweeted one user.
Dorsey, who also does two-hour meditation day-to-day, had tweeted in January about his eating regimen, drawing complaint.
“Been playing with fasting for some time. Biggest thing I understand is how a lot time slows down. The day feels such a lot longer when no longer damaged up through breakfast/lunch/dinner.” he tweeted.
One user answered: “Disordered eating to approximate the suffering brought about through poverty... Playing is such a lot amusing”.
