BHUBANESWAR: Police on Wednesday booked some students and faculty members of DAV School of Business Management (DSBM) for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 19-year-old student of the institute.
On Tuesday, Taniya Banerjee — pursuing her bachelor's level in industry administration — was found placing in her hostel room at the college premises.
Following Taniya's dying, her mother Keya Banerjee filed an FIR in opposition to some of her friends and the college government, alleging that mental trauma brought about by means of them drove Taniya to dedicate suicide. Keya also claimed that Taniya's friends accused her of robbery, and the government did little to forestall the harassment.
"We've booked 4 students and 2 DSBM officials for abetting the suicide. A five-member team has been constituted to probe the circumstances leading to Taniya's death," said DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
