Fake Facebook accounts in minister’s name, FIR filed

ALLAHABAD: UP deputy leader minister Keshav Prasad Maurya'sIT team, on Tuesday night, lodged an FIR in opposition to unidentified individuals for growing 12 pretend Facebook accounts below the title of the former Phulpur MLA and posting objectional feedback over the past two months through those pretend IDs.


The FIR was once lodged through the deputy secretary of Maurya's IT mobile AK Kanojia on the Cantonment police station, overdueTuesday night.


Kanojia had complained to the district magistrate with an explanation , comprising URLs of all pretend Facebook accounts. The DM had forwarded the evidence to the SP Crime and Cyber mobile to probe the problem.


"As per his complaint, there are only two official Facebook accounts of the deputy CM. However in the last two months, some miscreants have been posting photographs and videos of Maurya from these 12 fake Facebook accounts," stated station officer of Cantonment police station, Ramesh Singh Rawat.


Rawat stated Maurya's followers had been being deceive into 'liking' the pretend Facebook accounts. "A complaint has registered with Facebook for closure of the fake accounts, of which four have been closed. But Facebook officials are yet to respond about tracing the accused involved in creating these accounts. The cyber cell is probing the case," stated Rawat.
