Govt to standardise parameters for measuring air quality

NEW DELHI: The Centre will soon initiate the process for standardisation of equipment, data and all different parameters required to measure purity of air, Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Wednesday.

The minister was once talking at an tournament right here to announce the synchronisation of Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) regional positioning device 'NAVIC' with Indian atomic clocks.

A memorandum on behalf of the 33rd Asia Pacific Metrology Programme General Assembly and Related Meetings 2017 (APMP GA 2017) was once submitted to the minister at the occasion.

The memorandum referred to as for framing of a countrywide coverage wherein "calibration and certification of instruments" can be taken up for a blank setting, an idea that was once accredited by means of the surroundings minister.

Vardhan admitted that many professionals had advised him that the factors in use for measuring PM 2.five and PM 10 ranges of pollution and so forth, were excess of the actual standards.
