PANAJI: Taking serious cognizance of staff reporting past due to work, principal leader engineer of the public works division (PWD), U P Parsekar, has sent out a strict warning to group of workers asking them to stick to administrative center timings.


An administrative center memorandum sent out to all division heads this month stated that all the way through attendance tests on October 10 it was noticed that most effective 30% of the group of workers had been provide on time. "Now again on November 10, when the check was carried out, it was found that most of the staff did not reach the office even by 9.45am," the memorandum dated November 14 stated. The group of workers had been warned about punctuality thru a memorandum remaining month.


This was verified from the biometric machine installed where it was also found that "not a single staff of Chief Engineer-II and Executive Engineer (Legal) was present in the office. It is also observed from the Attendance Report that some staff are not even punching the biometric machine", the file said.


The memorandum directed all officials "to obtain half day casual leave from the staff (of their respective sections) who have attended the office after 9.45 am". Parsekar also requested controlling officials of respective sections to make certain that their subordinates strictly adhere to the time time table, "failing which officers concerned will be held responsible and accordingly action as deemed fit shall be initiated against the errant officer and the section officer as well". An clarification may also be sought from the group of workers who aren't punching the biometric machine, the memorandum added.
