Tirupur: Transgenders from Vellakoil are here staged a protest on the Tirupur district collectorate on Monday, tough the management to offer them loose house plots within the town.
They threatened to return all their identification playing cards, including Aadhar card, given by means of the government if it did not take steps to address their call for.
"More than 30 transgenders live in Vellakoil area and we make a living by taking alms. Most of us do not have any accommodation facility. We had several times requested the district administration provide us house plots. But they have not so far taken any step to heed our petitions," stated Yashika, a transgender.
