Coimbatore: Jewellery worth Rs 63,000 had been lost in two chain snatching circumstances reported within the city on Tuesday.
The first case used to be reported in Race Course police station at 9pm. The complainant, Deepa Santhosh, a resident of third Stree, Tatabad used to be on how to the temple close to Maharashtra Co-operative about 7.20pm when two men on a motorbike snatched her gold chain weighing 1.5 sovereigns, police assets stated. Race Course police have registered a case. The worth of the stolen jewellery is estimated to be Rs 13,000.
In the second one incident, Alamelu M, a 68-year-old lady from Trident Sebenity Apartment in Nanjundapuram, reported snatching of a gold chain weighing five sovereigns and some other chain weighing one sovereign. Alamelu and her husband Muthu had been returning house from the railway station on their two-wheeler round 5.30pm when two men on a motorbike snatched the chains. TNN
