Chit fund panel submits fourth interim report to Odisha government

CUTTACK: The Justice MM Das Commission, probing into the multi-crore chit fund scam in the state, on Thursday submitted its fourth period in-between report to the state executive in a sealed quilt.

Sources mentioned the fee has identified a complete of 55,563 small depositors (those that deposited lower than Rs 10,000 in Ponzi firms) in the fourth section after inspecting 1,38,388 affidavits from buyers. The 55,563 buyers had invested cash in 342 firms.


Sources mentioned the fee has advisable the state executive to verify refund of money to those small buyers on a concern foundation. Earlier in July closing year, the fee had submitted its 3rd period in-between document through which it had identified 41,519 small buyers.


So a ways, the fee has tested over three lakh affidavits out of the eight.7 lakh affidavits filed earlier than it via the duped buyers.
