KSRTC workers plan indefinite strike from Jan 30

Hubballi: KSRTC Staff and Workers Federation will cross on indefinite hunger strike from January 30 to call for the fulfillment of their 14 calls for and protest the alleged anti-worker and anti-trade union policies of the control of road shipping firms within the state.

Speaking to newshounds right here on Wednesday H V Ananthasubba Rao, general secretary of the federation, stated that he will sit down on a hunger strike with Vijaya Bhaskar D A, general secretary of AITUC.

"Many problems represented by the federation are pending before the road transport corporation managements. Yet the managements are not serious to resolve the problems through negotiations. The anti-union policies like unilateralism, callous disregard to the problems raised by the federation, victimization transfers and dismissals are still continuing," he alleged.

A dharna will probably be staged at all divisional places of work around the state from 10am to 5pm on January 25. "Even at this stage, we demand that the government and management negotiate to sort out issues," he stated.
