Attack gives BJP, JD(S) ammo to flay Congress

BENGALURU: It is not the most productive of instances for the ruling Congress and residential minister B Ramalinga Reddy. The buzz around the alleged assault through Mohammed Nalpad Haris, Congress early life wing normal secretary and son of Shanthinagar MLA N A Haris, on a person at UB City used to be just demise out when this assault — on Lokayukta Justice Vishwanath Shetty no much less — has come to embarrass the government.
The timing could not have been worse for the ruling party with assembly elections around the corner and the BJP launching its 14-day 'Protect Bengaluru' march. The opposition party is exhorting citizens to save the city from Congress ‘misrule and goondaraj’.

The assault on the Lokayukta has supplied extra political ammunition to the opposition events. The JD(S) has joined the BJP in attacking the Siddaramaiah govt, mentioning failure of legislation and order. They have sought Reddy’s resignation for his failure on maintaining legislation and order in Bengaluru.

Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda slammed the government pronouncing, “The Lokayukta establishment has already been killed through the government. What is the which means of this assault? In which state are we? Are we in goondaraj? Where is legislation & order in Karnataka?"

BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya took to Twitter to condemn the incident. “No one is secure in Congress ruled Karnataka, nobody. Even the Lokayukta can be stabbed in extensive sunlight and the administration just seems to be on... @siddaramaiah must be embarrassed about presiding over a nonexistent govt!" he tweeted.

BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa reacted on an identical lines. “The horrific incident deserves to be condemned,” he mentioned. “This is a proof of the existence of goondaraj and the deterioration of legislation and order within the state. I am appalled and strongly condemn the ghastly assault on Lokayukta.”

However, Siddaramaiah and Reddy moved briefly to contain the fallout. They visited Justice Shetty at Mallya Hospital and spent a while there. “This is an overly sad incident,” Reddy admitted later while countering allegations of the opposition events. “We want to know the goal in the back of the incident. We have ordered an intensive probe. The metal detector on the Lokyukta's place of business has been defunct and it might be the explanation why Tejraj Sharma used to be allowed to sneak a knife in.”
