Coimbatore: Calling upon the BJP-led government at the Centre and the Congress in Karnataka to modify their stand referring to Cauvery Management Board, Tamil Maanila Congress chief G Okay Vasan has advised political parties in Tamil Nadu to level a joint protest in New Delhi.
Talking to reporters within the city on Friday, Vasan stated motion of the Centre with reference to Cauvery issue has raised doubts if it used to be a democratic government or a dictatorial one. “The central government has betrayed the folk of Tamil Nadu,’’ he stated.
He stated TMC will hang a meeting in Trichy with district functionaries on Saturday. “On April 1, we will be able to meet representatives from farmer associations. The subsequent day we will be able to hang a protest in front of collector’s administrative center in Chennai,’’ he stated. “We are planning to organize a sequence of protests to mount pressure on the central and state governments for setting up CMB,’’ he added. Vasan stated that each one political parties must sign up for fingers and mount a united protest against the Centre and Karnataka governments in New Delhi. “The TN government must take the initiative for any such protest,’’ he stated.
