NEW DELHI: A Delhi court docket has reserved its order on framing of charge in opposition to Aam Aadmi Party lawmaker Alka Lamba, accused of allegedly trespassing and vandalising a store in the city and obstructing the police from performing their responsibility in 2015.
Metropolitan Magistrate Abhilash Malhotra reserved the order after listening to the arguments of the police and the MLA's recommend on the point of charge. It is likely to pronounce the order next week.
An FIR was lodged in opposition to the MLA from Chandni Chowk on August 10 2015, a day after she had won head injuries in a stone-pelting attack all the way through her anti-drug marketing campaign in Delhi's Kashmere Gate space.
The case was registered on the Kashmere Gate Police Station on a grievance through buyers together with the proprietor of a candy store, Shiv Mishthan Bhandar, after a video clip emerged through which she was allegedly observed vandalising stores together with a few of her supporters.
Lamba was earlier summoned as accused in the case through the court docket which had taken cognisance of a charge sheet filed through the police in opposition to her.
She was chargesheeted for alleged offences under sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 353 (assault or felony pressure to deter public servant from discharge of his responsibility), 427 (mischief causing harm to assets), 451 (house-trespass) and 34 (not unusual purpose) of the IPC.
The charge sheet mentioned that on August 9, 2015, Lamba together with another individuals committed trespass in the store and threw a money invoice machine, vandalised the counter and obstructed and deterred the police staff provide there.
According to the police, the CCTV digital camera footage recovered from the store confirmed Lamba toppling the billing machine whilst one in all her colleagues was observed pushing everything from a desk and jostling with the policemen.
The politician had claimed that the 30-second CCTV footage was shot after she was attacked.
