HYDERABAD: An FIR was registered on Friday following a grievance alleging that almost 100 stray canines were culled and dumped in a forest area, police mentioned.
The grievance was lodged via a non-governmental organisation(NGO) on May 16, pronouncing unidentified persons were choosing up boulevard canines from Meerpet area and 'killing' them at the within sight Kongara forest, they mentioned.
A case was registered underneath the Animal Cruelty Act and likewise underneath related sections of IPC, they added.
About 100 carcasses were found close to the forest, police mentioned.
Veterinary docs conducted a postmortem and despatched the samples to a laboratory, police mentioned, including reports were awaited.
