IAS officer Shashank Goel’s son shot in Istanbul

HYDERABAD: Senior IAS officer Shashank Goel’s son, Shubham Goel, was shot dead in a robbery strive in Istanbul, Turkey. The frame was brought again to India and the last rites carried out on Sunday in Uttarakhand.

The incident came about on May 24. Shanshank Goel who's a most important secretary-rank officer in Telangana, rushed to Delhi on coming to grasp of the incident, in line with professional resources in the Secretariat.


With lend a hand from the Union external affairs ministry, the frame was dropped at India. The last rites have been carried out in Roorkee, Uttarakhand on May 27 because the family hails from there. The 24-year-old Shubham Goel, a tool engineer, was hired in america as deputy manager with the Federal Bank of America in California and had come to India to attend the wedding of a relative.


On his way back to California, he planned a commute to Turkey. It is learnt that during Instanbul when he was on a sight-seeing commute with a group, Shubham and a friend have been confronted via a group of thugs. They threatened them and demanded that they quit their money and property to them.


When Shubham reportedly tried to withstand and no longer give in to the demand immediately, he was attacked with a knife and likewise shot dead. Shubham’s father, Shanshank Goel, a 1990-batch IAS officer, is most important secretary, labour, employment, factories and training. When his place of job was contacted on the Telangana secretariat, they said the officer had gone to Delhi but could no longer ascertain anything in regards to the incident. However, the native media in Uttarakhand reported the incident.
