MANGALURU: Torrential rains that lashed that town on Tuesday morning inundated most of the low lying areas within the city. The rains which started at 9am left town in a shambles with the secure drizzle turning to a downpour by mid-afternoon. Many low lying areas within the city witnessed artificial flooding and water entered many compounds – making it tricky for citizens to project out or are available.
Major areas that noticed inundation were Kodialguthu, Kottara Chowki, PVS, Kadri Kambala, Panjimogeru, Adyar, Yekkuru and other areas. Most of the roads within the city were ankle deep water because of both drains being full or loss of drains.

Shivaganga Milk parlour owner Shivaram, whose shop is situated beside the Kodialguthu storm water drain, stated that is the first time in 25 years that his shop is getting inundated.
