NCB arrests two J&K residents with 10kg charas

AHMEDABAD: A staff from the Ahmedabad zonal place of work of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 10kg charas (hashish) price Rs 1 crore from two persons, citizens of Jammu & Kashmir (J&Okay), from close to Vaishnodevi Circle late on Friday night time.

According to NCB officers, a staff used to be on watch close to Vaishnodevi Circle acting on prior information. When a truck with J&Okay registration code approached the circle, the officers stopped it and checked its contents. The truck used to be empty. Hari Om Gandhi, zonal director, NCB, mentioned that two persons — known as Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, 35, and Sohel Ahmed Ghani, 25, both citizens of Muchi close to Shopian in J&Okay — were apprehended with the contraband. “They had been promised Rs 50,000 for the delivery. It is suspected that Mushtaq had come to Gujarat previous with similar contraband. Further probe is on,” he mentioned.


Investigators mentioned that the seized charas is of fine high quality and fetches higher charges. Mushtaq had loaded herbal drugs from Samba in J&Okay and had delivered it to Mehsana as a cover of his operation to ship the medicine within the city. “We are yet to establish the id of the one who used to be to return for the delivery as probe has been initiated on the foundation of the sender and other persons concerned,” mentioned a senior NCB official, including that charas from Kashmir is likely one of the most steadily apprehended contraband in Gujarat.
