CHENNAI: Actor Rajinikanth has approached the Madras top courtroom in search of to quash a non-public criticism of defamation lodged by a movie financier against him before a town metropolitan magistrate courtroom.
The film financier Mukundchand Bothra had approached the VII metropolitan magistrate courtroom in George Town, in search of defamation proceedings against the actor who has now moved the top courtroom to quash the criticism.
Bothra had claimed that Rajinikanth’s daughter’s sweetheart's father Kasthuri Raja had received a mortgage of Rs 40 lakh from him on January 2, 2012, and agreed to pay off the same with passion, the actor stated in his petition.
The financier claimed that Kasthuri Raja later approached him on July 13, 2012, for a further mortgage of Rs 25 lakh for which he demanded surety. Bothra also alleged that Kasthuri Raja wrote a letter at the similar day declaring that even though he did not pay the mortgage, Rajinikanth would pay it.
As Kasthuri Raja did not pay again the mortgage, the financier moved a criminal case against him which used to be sooner or later brushed aside.
Subsequently, according to the alleged letter written by Kasthuri Raja, the financier moved the civil courtroom against Rajinikanth to recuperate the mortgage. The actor filed an software claiming that the swimsuit were moved with an intention to extort cash from him.
