Tirupur: Residents of Perumanallur have closed down a temporary tar mixing plant, which resumed operations per week ago in violation of a tripartite agreement inked last year to relocate the similar, announcing it posed danger to public health.

“However, the plant resumed operations last week,” said V Karuppasamy, a villager.
