Cops happy with theft recoveries, but no clue about main accused

LUDHIANA: With no clue about the primary accused who escaped from police custody, Dugri police are happy with the restoration from the second one accused. On Wednesday, Dugri police recovered 840g gold price Rs26 lakh, and Rs5.55 lakh from a thief arrested on 23 June. Moreover, the police department released a pressnote on this restoration. However, they're preserving mum over the absconding major accused who fled from out of doors the Dugri police station.

On 22 June, Dugri police arrested a thief Mani Kumar (30), who was booked in 8 theft cases. On the next day, they took Mani for restoration and got Rs4 lakh in money and 400g gold. The police also arrested his brother Sunny Kumar (27), who was his partner in crime, and booked him in two theft cases. As quickly because the police group of four officials lead by way of ASI Gurmail Singh reached out of doors the police station with the restoration and each the accused, Sunny started complaining of a serious stomach-ache. Sunny has been booked in two theft cases, while Mani in 8 theft cases.” Further, Bhullar added that the gold and money had been buried by way of the accused near Dugri bridge, and out of a complete Rs5.55 lakh, Rs1.2 lakh had been buried in a vacant plot of Pratap Singh Wala on Hambran Road.


When questioned about no motion towards the cops for his or her negligence in letting the primary accused break out, ACP Bhullar mentioned: “I agree it's negligence. However, making an allowance for the monitor file of the authentic, and restoration from this case, the negligence will also be overlooked.” Commissioner of police Sukhchain Singh Gill mentioned: “I'm unaware of the incident by which a thief escaped from police custody, as I used to be on leave. I can get it checked, and the desired motion can be taken.”
