As using the social media platform as a potential recruitment device realizes their worst fears, Assam Police have swung into action. "We have registered a case against the outfit," further director general of Assam Police (special department) Pallab Bhattacharya said. "We are moving cautiously and waiting to see what information comes our way. We have seen some youths have provided details of their thereabouts and expressed interest in joining the outfit," he added.
In retaining with the modus operandi of militant outfits on social media, on Saturday, Ulfa (I) posted a video of a tea lawn employee that they had kidnapped from Tinsukia district on June eight for being a BJP "informer". I have been doing this to keep my job. They have employed several other such informants. I plead with the MLA to rescue me." ADGP Bhattacharya said, "It seems Gopal was tutored to say this."
Another video the outfit has posted show a few armed cadres of the outfit talking among themselves about how they lured police right into a lure at Bordumsa in Tinsukia district. On May 5, a young police sub-inspector Bhaskar Kalita was killed in the assault.
