Itchy thieves strike again, this time in Kengeri

The modus operandi appears to be very simple – identify goals via hovering around banks and gold loan shops; observe the objective and at an acceptable spot throw some sticky substance that results in fast itching; recommend to the sufferer that washing with water would possibly relieve the itch; whilst the sufferer is busy washing the affected a part of the frame, scouse borrow the booty and slip clear of the spot.

That’s itch.

In the second incident in fresh days, a circle of relatives from Kengeri lost gold jewelry after a number of attention diverters instructed them that there used to be something on the woman’s again. In the sooner incident in Electronics City, a man lost Rs 1.five lakh when his son used to be sprayed with a substance that led to a massive itch.

The latest incident came about on Wednesday. Venkatesh RC, 36, a resident of Kengeri Satellite Town had long gone to Karnataka Bank to take again gold jewelry that he had pledged for a loan. Around 10.15 am, he paid the bank Rs 85,000 and took again the jewelry and secured it in his Honda Dio’s glove compartment.

As they handed Shastri Café on Kommaghatta Main Road, anyone informed them that something had fallen on the wife’s again. Before Venkatesh may just react, his wife began screaming.

“I stopped close to a juice centre and attempted to clean my wife’s again. My arms began itching as soon I touched the substance. When we returned to the scooter, I noticed that the glove compartment used to be open and the bag containing gold jewelry used to be lacking,” Venkatesh instructed Bangalore Mirror.

“The juice shop proprietor had a CCTV camera and we noticed anyone with our bag on his bike’s fuel tank. But the photos did not show them stealing the bag,” he added.

Venkatesh informed the police and the bank. The CCTV photos on the bank confirmed an individual following them once they exited the bank.

DCP (West) Ravi D Channanavar said that other gangs of attention diverters from Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad, Bhadravati, Chitradurga and Kolar have been lively in the city. “We are but to track the crowd with this MO. We have arrested more than 5 gangs in the fresh months together with the recent one caught via Kalasipalya traffic police. Upparpet and Vijaynagar police too have busted other gangs.”

It’s now not recognized but what the chemical substance is. It results in fast irritation for which the sufferers prevent and wash the surface. This gives the crowd contributors, in most cases seven to eight in number, sufficient time to flee.
