Gurgaon: Around 1,200 consumers of the Mantra project, which was introduced through Shree Vardhman Developers in 2010, are uncertain about getting ownership of their dream homes.
As many as 8 years have handed since they booked their residences and the developer had promised delivery in 2014 however till date, no person has got ownership. Spread throughout 10 acres in Sector 67, the project has 10 towers and 1,207 units.

Manoj, a buyer said, "I booked a two BHK unit in 2010 and the builder promised to deliver it by 2014. I made nearly the whole payment within a year but I have been waiting for possession for the past four years. I don’t even know if I will get my flat or now."

Another buyer Munish said, "It’s been four years of rigorous follow up with the builder. The only thing we hear is that possession will be granted before Diwali. But Diwali comes and goes every year and we are still waiting." According to homebuyers, the project is 95% entire but the developer is yet to obtain the profession certificates (OC) for the project. On the opposite hand, the developer has allegedly advised some consumers, who had been demanding ownership, that they should get the remainder of the work carried out or hand over Rs four lakh each and every. "There is a rumour that the licence of the project has been cancelled due to some internal issues," said a buyer.

Both the directors of Shree Vardhman Developers — Sandip Jain and Sachin Jain — have allegedly stopped responding to calls and messages of homebuyers. Despite accommodation a complaint on the leader minister’s window, no action has been taken against the developer.

"I am working with a private company and currently staying on rent. It seems that my dream flat will remain a dream," said buyer Vinod, including that the builder was no longer taking any responsibilty. Hundreds of households are waiting for ownership but the developer has time and again did not are living as much as commitments, consistent with him.


The last conversation between homebuyers and the developer was allegedly in March this year when the consumers had been assured that they'd get ownership inside of 3 months however that didn't happen.


The other project of the developer, Flora has also been behind schedule. A court case was filed against the developer over a three-year delay in handover of residences in the Sector 90 project. Not simplest did the consumers record a court case but in addition approached RERA to demand action against the developer.


Despite repeated attempts, the developer didn't reply to calls or messages.
