NOIDA: At least 22 other people, who have been issued challans underneath Section 151 of the CrPC for creating nuisance in public on Monday evening, must spend a minimum of two more days in prison till their verification process is entire. Those picked up as a part of preventive arrest include eight individuals running in an unathorised hookah bar in Lama and Co in Sector 49, including its manager.
SDM (Sadar) Anjani Kumar Singh said the verification process had develop into more stringent of late. “Initially, we'd accept both land-related documents or registration certificate for verification. But, some other people would publish pretend certificate. This time, we are verifying every file for its authenticity, which takes time,” he said.
The accused will now need to spend one evening in detention and any other in preventive detention underneath the CrPC section.
Police said the hookah bar was once being run without a licence for the previous five months. “We were given a tip-off in regards to the hookah bar, raided the world and sealed it. Snacks and beverages have been being served along with hookah in opposition to the norms,” town Justice of the Peace Shailendra Mishra said.
