CHENNAI: The Doctors Association for Social Equality on Thursday puzzled why Tamil Nadu ministers C Ve Shanmugam and D Jayakumar in the hunt for arrest of those answerable for “mismanagement” of medical treatment given to former chief minister J Jayalalithaa had omitted names of deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam and well being minster C Vijaya Baskar.

DASE general secretary Dr GR Ravindranath stated in the hunt for police investigation and arrest of medical doctors was once an insult to the medical fraternity. It also created concern in medical doctors that may save you them from treating any VIP henceforth, he added.


“Many minsters came out of the medical institution and instructed newshounds that former chief minister was once heathy. They instructed us that she had eaten idli and idiappams, spoken to officers and signed files. Later, they excused themselves for the lie,” he stated.


“Minister Vijaya Baskar was once interacting with the medical doctors nearly every day. Being a doctor himself, he can have prompt the federal government if she needed to be shifted out to any other medical institution or country. Why look forward to well being secretary or chief secretary to document the issue? Even Panneerselvam did not order a postmortem after her demise,” he stated at press conference on Wednesday.


The affiliation alleged that the politically motivated statements by way of the 2 ministers had been distracting the investigation.
