THANE: A housewife and her paramour allegedly strangulated her husband to loss of life in her Thane flat and tried to pass off the murder as an accidental loss of life. They carried the body down to the development compound within the wee hours of Saturday, sandwiched the corpse between them on a scooter, employed an autorickshaw en direction and got him admitted in Thane civil health facility claiming he used to be an accident sufferer and left. But CCTV cameras at the health facility and her development nailed her lie.
The Kasarwadavli police have introduced a manhunt to trace the accused—Priya Naik (28) and Mahesh Karale (30), a railway employee from Neral. The sufferer, Gopi Naik (30), used to be hired as a sweeper at Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).
The policesuspect that Gopi had learned of Priya’s affair and she or he and Karale then made a plan to bump him off. The police claimed that after killing Gopi, they decided to take the body to health facility and prepare dinner up the story that he used to be an accident sufferer.
The police stated on Saturday, Priya brought Gopi to the health facility in an autorickshaw, while Karale followed them on a white scooter. Priya informed the staffers that “the man used to be severely injured” in an accident. Even as docs declared Gopi dead on admission, she left with Karale on the scooter, stated senior inspector Datta Dhole. “The scientific group carried out an post-mortem and the record printed that the man had a number of injuries on the head and other parts of body and used to be strangulated,” stated a police officer. The police then tested the CCTV pictures at the health facility and showed it to Gopi’s brother who known Priya and Karale, stated inspector Nasir Kulkarni.
A police group went to the Naiks’ place of abode at Shramsafalya Awas, a TMC development in Gaimukh space, and found bloodstains within the flat. “We tested the development’s CCTV pictures and found that around 3.30am, Priya and Karale carried a lifeless Gopi to the scooter and rode away,” stated the officer, adding that they are going to have employed the autorickshaw on methods to the health facility. Later, in step with the development’s CCTV pictures, Priya and Karale returned to her flat around 5.30am and left quickly after on the scooter.
